Tutors' Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to TuitionDoctor. These Terms and Conditions outline the rules and regulations for tutors providing services through our platform. By registering and offering your tutoring services on TuitionDoctor, you agree to comply with these terms.

2. Registration and Verification

  • Professional Qualifications: All tutors must provide proof of their professional qualifications, including but not limited to certificates, degrees, and relevant professional body registrations (e.g., TSC in Kenya).

  • Background Check: Tutors must consent to and pass a background check as part of the registration process.

3. Services

  • Scope of Services: Tutors shall provide tutoring services in the subjects they are qualified for. This includes preparing lesson plans, conducting lessons, providing homework and assignments, and tracking student progress.

  • Mode of Delivery: Tutoring sessions can be conducted online or in-person, as agreed upon with the student or their guardian.

4. Payments

  • Payment Structure: Tutors will be compensated at the rate agreed upon during the onboarding process. Payments will be processed through the TuitionDoctor platform.

  • Payment Schedule: Payments will be disbursed on a bi-weekly/monthly basis, subject to completion of the tutoring sessions and submission of required documentation (e.g., timesheets, session reports).

  • Refunds and Cancellations: In the event of a cancellation by the student, tutors will be compensated for any sessions already completed. If a tutor cancels a session without valid reason, they may forfeit their payment for that session.

5. Conduct and Discipline

  • Professionalism: Tutors must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. This includes punctuality, preparedness for sessions, and respectful communication with students and their guardians.

  • Code of Conduct: Tutors must adhere to the TuitionDoctor Code of Conduct, which includes maintaining appropriate boundaries, avoiding conflicts of interest, and ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.

  • Disciplinary Actions: Any breach of conduct or failure to adhere to these terms may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of the tutor's account.

6. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Student Information: Tutors must keep all student information confidential and use it solely for the purpose of providing tutoring services.

  • Data Protection: Tutors must comply with all relevant data protection laws and TuitionDoctor’s Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

  • Voluntary Termination: Tutors may terminate their agreement with TuitionDoctor by providing 30 days' written notice.

  • Involuntary Termination: TuitionDoctor reserves the right to terminate a tutor’s account without notice in cases of serious misconduct or repeated breaches of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Content Ownership: Any teaching materials provided by TuitionDoctor remain the property of TuitionDoctor. Tutors may use these materials solely for the purpose of providing tutoring services.

9. Limitation of Liability

TuitionDoctor will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the provision of tutoring services.

10. Amendments

TuitionDoctor reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Tutors will be notified of any changes and continued use of the platform will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya.
